The 2006 International Buskers Festival will be here in Sawtell on Saturday 7th October. This is set to be a great day for everyone.

Some of the Acts include:

• DUO ACRO (The 2 English Gentleman)
  Dennis and Hamish are 2 upper crust toffs who wouldn't be out of place in the House of Commons. They present a fun all ages show with amazing feats of strength, all interwoven with a very proper and 'English' storyline.
• HOT NUTS AND POPCORN (Canada)
  Derek and Eric are two of Canada's craziest stand-up comedians. They bring their brand of impromptu comedy to the street and as MCs for the night time Plantation Hotel shows. Don't miss their hilarious 'mousetraps' routine.
  
• BLACKSTREET BOYS (USA)
  Absolute and utter mayhem! Alfred and Seymour have honed their skills on the streets of L.A. & New York. When they hit Australia they will either be deported or become national heroes. Rapid fire comedy, outrageous stage antics, audience paticipation. Think Eddie Murphy times 2.
  
• MOTLEY 2 from New Zealand. Ladderman and Mulletman return by popular request! Their show features a mix of comedy, juggling, 9ft unicycles presented with the humour that only Kiwis can get away with. Great for all ages!

The Sawtell Chamber of Commerce announces Australia Day Celebrations in First Ave, Sawtell on 26th January 2007.

Come along and help Sawtell celebrate 2007 the Year of the Surf Lifesaver.

• Taste an array of 'Aussie' flavours in Sawtell's famous restaurants and cafes.
  
• There will be music under the fig trees from 11am.
• Activity sheets for the kids.
• Lots of flag waving, and
• Sawtell's local surf lifesaving club will have raffle tickets on sale during the day - win a trip to Cairns.

Mountain Designs GeoQuest 48hr is Australia's premier adventure race. It involves 48hrs of non-stop endurance racing in the major disciplines of trekking, mountain biking and kayaking. Mixed, Male or Female teams of four must navigate their way through an arduous 200+km course that is only revealed to them the evening before the race. The Mountain Designs GeoQuest is held annually on the Queens Birthday long weekend in June.
